Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond locks and a lively personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and culture, and the surrounding landscape. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful learning experience. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She talks about her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world, as she regularly is in the United States for both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne in all her cooking journey, has said that it is a privilege to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
